I awoke this morning to snow. Most of my life has been spent in places that would make this an unsurprising, though delightful, event. But I live in more southern climes now, and snow that remains longer than a couple of hours is unusual. As I drove my daughter to work this morning I passed a marshy area where the dark water and bare, winter trees contrasted powerfully with the snow that coated only a portion of the trunks and branches. “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” immediately began running through my mind, and I sang it aloud to the tune my college roommate taught me when she memorized it years ago. I was able to find a recording of Robert Frost reciting it. It seemed the perfect thing to share on this lovely day.

Enjoyed this one Keli!  I also just read the one about the uncle who was buried in the sand.  Whoa!  Didn’t know you wrote that sort of thing so well!
